Greenland to Disappear from World Map?

Fri, 25 Apr 2008 11:31:21 PDT
Are Greenland's days already numbered? And, if so, can anything be done to avert the looming disaster posed by a massive sea level rise? The simple answer is that though Greenland's fate is not yet set into stone (at least when it comes to a specific date), the present melting trends do not bode well.

Fri, 25 Apr 2008 08:24:13 PDT
Awesome Article..."The erosion of civil liberties and the growth of government intrusion by the federal government in the United States are alarming trends. However, the tendency of elected officials to perform their jobs as if they have the right to run the lives of their constituents does not stop at the federal level"

MLB: Fantasy Friday's...Actually on a Friday?

Fri, 25 Apr 2008 16:14:24 PDT
I'm heading to Cleveland this weekend for the Yanks-Indians game on Saturday afternoon. Apparently fans will be provided with 'rally towels' to help motivate the Indians as they try to remain hot after sweeping the Royals. I have tickets to Saturday's game where soft tossers Ian Kennedy and Jeremy Sowers will face off in front of a Nationally televised audience. After seeing Sowers at the Bisons Home Opener, I have a tough time believing he is going to have much success against the Hall of Fame

Doing The Basra Spin

Fri, 25 Apr 2008 15:34:25 PDT
By Cernig A report from the London Times today about how swimmingly things are going in Basra is getting a lot of attention from the pro-occupation cheerleading crowd today. The report gushes that reporter Deborah Haynes is "The first Western journalist to enter the city since Operation Charge of the Knights was launched a month ago" - previous reports from Basra having been compiled, presumably, by Iraqi employees of news agencies. But few have bothered to look at Haynes companion piece on t

Triple Top in Exxon Mobil (XOM) Weighs on Broad Market

Fri, 25 Apr 2008 07:24:44 PDT
In late March, I alerted readers to a triangle forming in Exxon Mobil (XOM). The stock broke out from its triangle and continued higher in textbook fashion. The upward trend was steady and pretty easy to trade. Importantly, XOM's breakout and follow-through rally helped the S&P 500 ($SPX) and Dow Jones Industrial Average ($INDU) move higher.

Trends in Marketing: Antique Prefab Homes For Venice

Fri, 25 Apr 2008 14:00:30 PDT
Click the image above to view the full photogallery. With prefab building all the rage, it's interesting to see how these antique, 100-plus year-old homes from Indonesia are being pitched. Via the Inbox: "Antique Prefab Houses, these are Javanese houses...Mel Gibson just bought two for his property in Malibu. Most people use them as guest/pool houses, but since they are similar in material to the Venice bungalows, you could easily put one on an empty property and live in it." At about 700 squ
